I went to watch MacBook Pro at Apple store

Hi!

I am thinking about buying a new laptop…and I am seriously buying my own MacBook for the first time in my life.

I went to an Apple store in COEX, Gangnam. By the way it was in the B2 floor, and was very hard to find.

Anyways, I saw MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac. I think you have already found out I am interested in M1 CPU. Yes, I am!

And here is how you should decide. Let’s see…”would you carry Mac often?”- No. “Is your main work contents creating, such as editing videos and pics?”- No. Then, according to this chart, my choice is supposed to be MacBook Pro(Intel CPU).

And here are the specs. Let’s see…am I supposed to buy MacBook Pro 13(Intel CPU)…? But I want to use an M1 CPUed MacBook! Looks like MacBook Pro 13 (M1) has smaller Memory(8GB) and Storage(up to 512GB SSD).

Now let’s see the price for my MacBook Pro 13 (M1)! Looks like if I choose the larger storage type(512 GB), it will cost me 1,960,000 KRW. Not so cheap. But not unaffordable, either.

May I see peripherals? I would like to see the price of keyboard, mouse, and connector to display.

…well, I forgot to take the photos with price tag, but I have taken note.

So here we are!

  • MacBook Pro 13 512GB: 1,960,000 KRW
  • Magic Keyboard with Touch ID: 179,000 KRW
  • Magic Mouse: 89,000 KRW
  • USB-C to Digital AV: 79,000 KRW
  • TTL: 2,307,000 KRW

For American readers, simply take away three zeroes to calculate into USD. 2,307,000 KRW almost equals to 2,307 USD.

OK, it would be a hell of a shopping. But believe me, I am doing this in a long run. I need to make sure if I really want this, and if so, when I should finance this, and talk with my wife to get approval, which is the most important part.

After all, as in a Japanese saying;

Preparing a festival is much more enjoyable than the festival itself.

A Japanese saying

I would like to enjoy this period as long as possible!
